The seminar will focus on increasing learners' self confidence through engaging students in a range of activities. We will be sharing ideas on how to create relevant lessons that encourage our students to actively participate in their learning process. By building self esteem Shirley believes we give students the confidence to access further literacies once they leave our learning environment.

Shirley is a Literacy an Numeracy Teacher with Mission Australia. Since graduating in 1974 she has taught from pre-school to year twelve but it has been in the last four years that she has found her true passion ... being able to empower adult learners to believe in themselves !
