Minister's Awards

Outstanding Contribution to Improving Literacy and/or Numeracy 2003

nominations close 11 April 2003

Do you know someone who has done outstanding work in the field of literacy and/or numeracy that you
think should be recognised for their efforts?

The Commonwealth Minister for Education, Science and Training would like to hear about the commitment and dedication of individuals from across the country who have worked tirelessly to improve literacy and numeracy in their communities.

Up to five (5) awards of $10,000 each will be made available in 2003 and award recipients will be
announced during National Literacy and Numeracy Week, 1 to 7 September 2003.

If you know of someone in your community whose commitment to any aspect of literacy and/or numeracy from early childhood right through to adult literacy and/or numeracy is worthy of recognition, then we’d like to hear from you. Further information including an information paper and nomination form is available from the DEST website at www.dest.gov.au/literacyandnumeracyweek (click on the ‘Minister’s Award’ link) or from Andrew Willimott on phone (02) 6240 7872, Helen Kemmis on phone (02) 6240 9578 or fax your enquiry to (02) 61236002.

Nominations close Friday 11 April 2003.
