Leonie is a plain English writing consultant and trainer.  A librarian by trade, she has over twenty years’ experience in both state and local government.  Leonie’s passion for language, literacy and numeracy resulted in the development of Redland City Council’s first Adult Literacy Tutoring Program.

She currently works with Indigenous rangers in Queensland’s Bunya Mountains, delivering engagement-based safety training and creating plain English work procedures.  The highlight of this work has been the development of the first bespoke Indigenous cultural burning procedure.

In addition to her library degree, she holds a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116). Leonie is a strong advocate of plain English in all workplace and training documentation.
